War Service
In the second week of his training, Peter was allocated to the Australian Medical Corps. Spent 8 - 20 Mar 1917 in No 8 Australian General Hospital in Fremantle with tonsillitis.
In June 1916 began to suffer from nervous headaches and backaches. Did not report sick until June 1917 when he was found to have a dilated, irritable heart.
Was AWOL from 4pm 26 Jul 1917 to 7am 27 Jul 1917, for which he forfeited a day's pay and was fined 10 shillings. Discharged 31 Jul 1917 due to ill health.
Based at Blackboy Hill camp 13 Mar 1916 to 16 Jun 1916; Claremont 16 Jun 1916 to 18 Oct 1916; Blackboy Hill 18 Oct to 26 Jan 1917; and No 8 AGH Fremantle from 26 Jan 1917 to 31 Jul 1917.
