Brief History
As part of a reorganisation of training arrangements in late 1942, the 3rd Australian Corps Advanced Reinforcement Depot was formed at Perenjori to hold reinforcements until they were posted to units around Western Australia. They moved to Northam in May 1943 where in September the unit was renamed 3rd Australian Advanced Reinforcement Unit. As troop numbers in Western Australia declined, the unit moved to Sellheim in Queensland in December 1943. There they were absorbed into the 5th Advanced Reinforcement Depot which was then servicing units in New Guinea.
