This ship was owned jointly by the Blue Funnel Line and the West Australian Steam Navigation Co. The SS Charon plied the Perth / Western Australian regional ports / Darwin / Singapore run for 20 years before being sold in 1925 to Yuan Heng S.S. Co. - Quach Dam, Swatow, and renamed as Yuan Lee.
In 1935 she was sold first to Mok H. Kiu, Hong Kong who namd her King Lee and then to Kwangtung Products Sales Bureau, Canton and renamed Wing Fook. In 1941 she was sold to Wallem & Co., Panama / Hong Kong and named Iris, and then in 1947 sold a last time to Shaw Hsing Steamship Co. Ltd., Shanghai and renamed Hsiang Hsing. The ship was stranded in Keelung Harbour on 7 Mar 1950, before being refloated on 2 Jul 1950 and then broken up for scrap.
