Brief History
During July 1944 the 2/106th General Transport Company was reorganised, with one of the results being the 2/106th Workshop Platoon. They moved to Warwick in September and then to Bribe Island in October to support the transport platoons operating DUKWs with 2nd line repairs. They remained there until given a rolke in the landings on Borneo. In Aptil 1945 they relocated to the staging base on Morotai befoe being involved in the landing at Labuan in British North Borneo, and later the landing at Brunei in June 1945. The Workshop Platoon continued to work on Labuan until the end of the war.
