Remarks
HMAS Dubbo's first posting was t Fremantle from where she carried out escort and anti-submarine tasks until March 1945. From Fremantle she sailed to New Guinea waters, with a brief pause at Darwin. She remained in New Guinea waters for the rest of the war. In April and May she was engaged in bombarding targets near Wewak, and then carrying troops from the 6th Division who made an amphibious assault on the Wewak Peninsular using landing barges. On 11 May she landed further troops at Dove Bay and provided fire support to them for the rest of the month.
In June 1945 HMAS Dubbo transferred to the Solomon Islands where she supported Australian troops by bombarding Japanese positions on Buka Island and Bougainville. Her final bombardment task was carried out on 28 Jun 1945, and she departed Torokina for Brisbane on 10 Jul 1945. In August she returned to the Solomon islands to carry out some minesweeping duties and then in New Britain waters during September. In October she returned to Australia for a refit in Brisbane. From January 1946 she carried out minesweeping operations in Australian waters, until 29 Apr 1946 when she entered Sydney harbour one last time. Paid off into reserve on 7 Feb 1947, she was sold for scrap on 20 Feb 1948 to a Japanese company.
