Brief History

In January 1943 the 5th Australian Infantry Troops Workshop at Wongan Hills was split in order to raise the 6th Australian Infantry Troops Workshop. In April the new unit moved to Midland Junction with 4 officers and 120 men. In September they relocated to Mullewa, and then in February 1944 to Greenmount. By mid-1944 troop numbers had decreased in Western Australia, and records of the 6th Australian Infantry Troops Workshop cease, so it is assumed that the unit was wound up at this time.
