Remarks
It appears that Tagus was used briefly as a hospital ship to transport badly injured men from Gallipoli to England in 1915. By 1916 she had returned to her more usual role of freighter, when on 6 Sep 1916 she was captured by the German submarine U39 captained by Werner Furbringer at the western entry to the English Channel. She was subsequently sunk by explosives with all crew surviving.
