Remarks

Built for the Booth Steamship Company which ran passenger services between Liverpool and Manaus which was 1,000 miles (1,600 km) up the Amazon River.

With the outbreak of war, she was requisitioned as a hospital ship.

On the evening of 17 April 1917 she was transporting wounded from Le Havre to Southampton when she was torpedoed without warning by U-Boat UB-40. 22 British and 18 Germans were lost.
