SS William H Ashley

Remarks
With Hull No 2246, she was one of 2,700 ships Liberty and Victory ships built to replace shipping being sunk in the North Atlantic U-Boat war. She was put together in the Portland Oregon Yard. Following hand over she appears to have been involved with convoys in the North Atlantic before being redeployed to the Pacific theatre later in WW2 where she carried stores and troops during the island hoping invasions.
Post WW2 she was handed over to the US Navy in 1956 and in 1972 she was sent to be scrapped in Philadelphia.
