Brief History

Established during March 1940 as RAE Wing of the RAE Wing, Eastern Command Recruit Training Depot, it moved to Menangle Park (NSW), and then in June to Greta where in August it became Eastern Command Engineer Training Depot. In August 1942 all engineer training Depots were centralised at Kapooka near Wagga Wagga.
