Brief History

With the increased need for men trained to manage and service docks in New Guinea and northern Australia, this unit was formed during January 1944 at Wallgrove in New South Wales. In March they moved to Meadowbank and trained staff fo docks operating units and port maintenance units.

In August 1945 these functions transferred to the new Transportation Corps and the unit was renamed Port Operations Service Training Unit.
