Wellington Bombers from RAF Lossiemouth | |
Brief History
20 OTU was formed in May 1940 at RAF Lossiemouth to train night bomber crews using the Vickers Wellington. The airfield opened in 1939 and it was known for its close proximity to flight training areas in Scotland and its favourable local flying conditions. The unit was disbanded in July 1945, while the air base continues to be used until the present time.
