Brief History

69 DCRE (Works) was formed at Northam in Western Australia during September 1942 when the Royal Australian Engineers Works Service was re-organised with 69 DCRE (Works) at Northam and 66 DCRE (Works) at Merredin. In February 1944 the unit was relieved at Northam by 3rd DCRE (Works) and it relocated to Karrakatta. In October 1944 they moved again, this time to Paramatta in new South Wales to manage works in southern and western Sydney until they were disbanded in June 1945.
