Initially a part of the 8th Supply Personnel Company which was raised at Karrakatta in December 1941. In May 1943 AASC units in Western Australia were re-organised and the unit was split to form 7th Supply Depot Company and [[8th Supply Depot Company]] which had responsibility for the depot at Midland and a number of small detachments spread around the state.  The detachment at the Metropolitan Markets in West Perth became 63rd Supply Depot Platoon.
