Brief History

The local purchase sections of the base ordnance depots in each state became separate units in December 1943 to manage the purchase of consumables and other items for local consumption, and to assist in the management of larger procurement programmes in their state. They were operational until the end of the war. 4th Local Procurement Office (Perth) was housed at Swan Barracks in East Perth.
