She was surrendered on 10 Apr 1919 and allocated to the Orient Steam Navigation Company which operated her initially using her existing name before renaming her SS Omar in 1921. She made three journeys to Australia carrying troops returning home, with her return journey carrying British troops home from Burma and India.

The Orient Steam Navigation Company, sold her in 1924 to the Byron Steam Ship Co of London who then renamed her SS Edison. She was then used on the Piraeus to New York route until she was scrapped in Italy during 1935.
