In 1935 ths ship was shortened to 480.5 ft (146.5m) in length, 8,890 tons. Registered at Liverpool, she arrived in Australian waters with the March 1942 voyage from the Middle East to Adelaide via Columbo. She remained in Australian waters until the end of 1942, and returned again in 1944 for several voyages primarily in the Indian Ocean.
During 1959 she was briefly called "SS Thumara before being broken up for scrap in Kawajiri, Japan begining on 10 Sep 1959.
