General Information
Formed in Adelaide, it departed Australia aboard HMAT A55 Kyarra for Egypt in Nov 1914. During the Gallipoli campaign it was based on Lemnos Island. Four male staff were Killed in Action or Died from their wounds on Gallipoli in early December.
With the completion of the Gallipoli campaign the hospital relocated to Egypt to service troops guarding the Suez Canal.
Renamed as 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital on 9 Oct 1916, and relocated to England where it was located at Dartford.
