Brief History

Originally organised as 1 Sub Depot of 7th Advanced Ordnance Depot, their vehicles moved from Midland to East Guildford in October 1942. In November 1943 they moved to a new depot at Nungarin where during the next month they were organised as the 5th Australian Ordnance Vehicle Park with 4 officers and 100 other ranks. In January 1945 a detachment at Guildford processed vehicles from the disbanded 3rd Motor Brigade Group. The 5th Ordnance vehicle park then concentrated at that location in July, with the formation of 1 Vehicle Disposal Section.
