Early Life
William Thomas Richardson was born in 1888, the son of Harriet Ann Richardson (nee Myales or Miles) and William Thomas Richardson Sr (d.1897). William had one brother named George Arthur Richardson (1891-1945).
Family
William's father, William Thomas Sr, was an ex-convict (8973) who worked as a bootmaker and died in 1897 at the Mt Eliza Depot, buried at East Perth Cemetery.
After the death of William's father, his mother Harriet Ann (d.1930) then went on to become the housekeeper of a former policeman at the 36-Mile peg, Mr George Pridmore. Mr Pridmore was farming at the 36-mile peg location after it was decommissioned as a Police outpost. Some of his children were living on the farm, as was Mrs Richardson, until Pridmore's death in 1909. Subsequently the land was farmed by William Thomas Richardson Jr and (presumably) his brother George who was still at that location in 1930.
Mr Pridmore had left a sum of money in his will to William's mother, Mrs Richardson, which may have enabled her to take over the lease (or pay for her sons to do so).
Death
William died at 25 years of age on 14 January 1914.
