Brief History
Originally formed in Egypt to provide training for reinforcements and those returning to active units after lengthy breaks. When the AIF units moved to France, the training unit was reformed at Perham Downs on 8 Aug 1916 as part of the 1st Training Group which supplied reinforcements for the 1st Division. The Training Group and its Training Battalions moved to Durrington 30 Jul 1917 and then to Sutton Veny on 10 October 1917 before being disbanded on 8 Nov 1917.
