Remarks
Launched as Mocambique for the Mala Real Portugueza, Lisbon, for service to the Portuguese African colonies. In 1902 she was sold to W MacAndrew, Lisbon, and renamed Alvarez Cabral. Resold again in 1902, this time to the Prince Line Ltd, Newcastle, and renamed Sicilian Prince for the Livorno/Genoa/Naples/Palermo/New York service. In 1908 she was chartered to Northwest Transport Line for four Rotterdam / Halifax / New York voyages.
During 1915 she appears to have had regular troop run from Mudros to the Dardanelles landing sites.
In 1910 she was sold to Khedivial Mail Steamship & Graving Dock Company Ltd, London, and renamed Abbassieh. In 1919 a takeover of the Khedivial Mail Steamship & Graving Dock Company Ltd by P&O was agreed, and ship now a part of the P & O fleet until she was scrapped in Italy during 1931.
