==Remarks==
USS General A. E. Anderson (AP-111) was a troop transport that served with the United States Navy in World War II and in the Korean War. She was first used to convey US troops to French Morocco. Several other cross Atlantic voyages followed to the UK before redeploying to the Pacific. In late 1944 she carried out a return journey from San Pedro California to Bombay via Sydney. Two journeys in 1945 were from San Franciso to Hollandia and Leyte.

In 1946 she made eight trans Atlantic voyages repatriating US troops, followed by similar voyages across the Pacific. The most famous voyage was the return of prisoners of war rescued by the Raid at Cabanatuan in the Philippines. The General A. E. Anderson departed Hollandia, New Guinea carrying 489 POWs. With the advent of the Korean War, she supported United Nations troops in Korea and Japan until she decommissioned at Oakland, California, on 10 Nov 1958. After returning to the Maritime Administration she entered the National Defense Reserve Fleet at Suisun Bay, California until she was sold for scrap on 14 Nov 1986 for the sum of $1,177,200. Scrapped in Taiwan during July 1987
