==Pre War==
Electoral Roll entries:

During 1936 Leonard married Mary Eliza (Mollie) Wight (1911 -  1999) in the blackwood district. Mary died in Bunbury on 29 Jun 1999 aged 88. They had two children.
==War Service==
On 22 Mar 1942 Leonard enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to the [[2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion]]. On 6 Nov 1943 his Army number was changed from W68024 to W62270, and on 1 May 1945 along withthe rest of his unit he was transferred to the Reserve.
