Enlisted at Armadale on 26 Mar 1942 and was allocated to the [[12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion]]. On 17 Feb 1944 at Pinjarra he was allocated a new Army number - W61902, and on 24 Mar 1944 he was discharged at his own request.
