Thomas (Snr) Buckingham was born in North Devonshire, England on 11 September 1808.

==Marriage==
Thomas married [[Mary Buckingham]](nee Chauter/Chanter) in Devon United Kingdom on 23 October 1835.  They had eleven children: Maria, Thomas, Mary, Alexander, Betsy, Caroline, Jane, William, Ellen, John, Hugh James.

==Electoral Rolls==
According to the electoral roll they lived in Moore River/Gingin area before settling in Roleystone.
==Immigration==
Thomas(Snr.) and Mary Buckingham came to Australia on the ship "Sophia" on 27 July 1850.  
==Death==
Thomas (Snr) died at the age of71 years on 5 October 1879
