During 1925 Leonard had married Marguerite (Madge) Jenkins (1903 - 1942) in Esperance. Madge died on 3 May 1942 in Armadale.
==War Service==
On 22 Mar 1942 Leonard enlisted in the militia and was posted to the [[2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion]]. During 1943 Leonard married Patricia Joyce Bickle (1921 - 2003). Patricia died on 1 May 2003, aged 81 in Armadale. On 1 May 1945 Leonard's records show that he was transferred to the Reserve on 1 May 1945.
