Early Life

Winifred Elizabeth Cull was born in 1910. Winifred was the daughter of James Westlake and May Elizabeth Higgs.

Marriage

Winifred Elizabeth Cull married Les Cull at Westlake in 1929. The couple had their first of three children in 1930 (Ronald), followed in later years by two daughters, Evelyn and Joy. The Cull family had an orchard and farm on Eighth Road, in the old locality of Westfield.

Community Contribution

Cull CT named after Mr Cornelius Cull who was an early pioneer of the district of Armadale (now deceased) - an orchardist in the area.

Post War

Before the untimely death of Winifred's husband Les in 1953, the couple enjoyed a life of farming. Following his death, the family sold the orchard and moved to a house on Fifth Road in Armadale, constructed by the eldest child, Ron. Les' children each married other locals of the district, with Ron marrying Sue Callaway, Evelyn marrying John Green, and Joy marrying Barry Poad.
