Pre War

In 1926 Stan married Violet Mae McDonald (1903 - 1988). Violet died on 11 Apr 1988 in Mt Lawley.

War Service

On 22 Mar 1942 at Armadale, Stanley enlisted on a part time basis and was allotted to 'D' Company of the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 1 Jul 1942 he was promoted Lance Sergeant, and then on 7 Aug 1942 he was transferred to the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion where later that month (29th) he was appointed Staff Sergeant, and appointed CQMS 'A' Company.

On 26 Feb 1944 at Pinjarra he was transferred to the 5th (Busselton) VDC Battalion, and on 31 Jul 1945 he was placed in Reserve with him finally struck of strength on 15 Oct 1945.

Post War

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 at Kent street Busselton, teacher; 1954 at 53 Carrington street, Hannans, schoolmaster; 1958 - 1968 at 20 Ednah street, Como, headmaster; 1972 - 1980 at 'Carinya' 67/20 Plantation street, Manora.
