Pre War

War Service

Ron enlisted in the RAAF, mustered as an Aircraftman General Hand TG V on 13 May 1944 at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre and was sent to the No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF to undertake No. P276 Recruit Drill course from 13 May until 9 Jun 1944. On 30 Jul 1944 he was posted to No. 17 Replenishing Centre RAAF at Bowral in New South Wales where he was promoted to Leading Aircraftman on 16 Nov 1944.


Ron was transferred to the No. 3 Reserve Personnel Pool RAAF on 26 Jul 1945 and transferred again on 12 Oct 1945 to the No. 2 Stores Depot RAAF at Waterloo in New South Wales from where he was admitted to No. 3 RAAF Hospital in Bradfield Park, Brisbane from 27 until 28 Nov 1945. He returned to the Stores Depot until he was posted om 18 Mar 1946 to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF in Perth to prepare for his discharge which took place on 20 Mar 1946. At discharge Ron received the usual 30 days pay to assist with resettlement, along with 11 day's pay to cover unused leave cedits.

Post War

Ron (19) married Thelma Lockwood (18) from Moss Vale, New South Wales on 7 Aug 1945 in the Bowral Anglican Church. The 1963 Electoral Roll lists a Ronald Keith Allen, described as a soldier, as living at 21 Merville street, Yaralla, New South Wales.
