On the 24th he was admitted to the [[110th Australian Base Hospital]], before being released to duty on 1 Aug 1941. Robert was granted three months leave without pay from 3 Sep 1941 - 3 Dec 1941. However, his records note that on 6 Oct 1941 he had completed a 90 days camp at Karrakatta, and that he was then called up for full time service on 9 Jan 1942.
