Eric grew up on the Traill-Nash family property 'Glen Eland' on Albany Highway in Kelmscott. The family business was an orchard.

War Service

Eric enlisted as Air Crew on 5 Jan 1944 at No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre in Perth, and 10 days later entered the No. 5 Initial Training School RAAF at Clontarf.
