Brief History

The 101st Reserve Motor Transport Company was mobilised in December 1941 at Enoggera in Brisbane, with a Headquarters, four transport sections and a workshops section. In March 1942 they were based at Ashgrove where in July they were re-organised into a larger format and renamed as the 111th Australian Motor Transport Company while still carrying out general transport duties in the greater Brisbane area. By July 1943 the Company Headquarters had mved to Toowong, and by August 1944 a Platoon was based at Strathpine. In March 1945 there were detachments at Rocklea, Helidon, Rdbank, Moorooka, Enoggera, Yeronga and Toorbul Point, and they worked from these locations until the end of the war.
