Beryl enlisted in the AIF Nursing as a Lieutenant (AANS) on 23 Jul 1945 and was alloted to Light Duties with the 110th Australian Base Hospital in Perth. On 9 Apr 1946 she was posted to the 71st Austalian Camp Hospital, before returning to the 110th Base Hospital on 4 Dec 1946.
On 28 May 1947 Beryl was taken on strength by the 115th Australian General Hospital at Heidelberg, Victoria. On arrival she was allocated to to nurse patients with ww1 and ww2 service. Beryl's service with the AIF was terminated on 30 Jun 1947 and she was transferred to the Interim Army on 1 Jul 1947.
