Brief History
It is thought that the Western Command Motor Transport Training Depot was formed in December 1941 to take over the training of drivers. In April 1942t it was renamed to 3rd Australian Corps Motor Transport Training Depot, and in November to Western Australian Line of Communication Area Motor Training Depot, then located at Northam. Renamed again in March 1943 to 4th Motor Transport Training Depot they were disbanded in June 1944 as the number of troops in Western Australia declined.
