Brief History
This unit canme into being when the AASC detachment which was manning the Detail Issue Depot in Moora was designated as Y DID. It was renamed 15th Detail Issue Depot in December 1942. Relieved by the 16th DID in January 1943, it moved to Mingenew where it was re-organised as the 49th Supply Depot Platoon in May 1943. In November they returned to Moora, and in July 1944 when there were only a few troops left in WA, it moved to Melville where they disbanded in August 1944.
